Responsible Citizenship is about being earth conscious.

Concern about our environment and the negative impact on our health isn’t something new. The positive news is now there is hope, especially with increased awareness of the impact that our own actions are having on the earth and more importantly on our own health and well-being. Globally, we are becoming more earth conscious. Here, at The Little Green Schoolhouse we feel it is important to do our part and actively be earth conscious. How do we do this? By being responsible citizens.

Learning to care about our environment and the world around us is an important aspect of our programs. We use the environment to support learning. Our Responsible Citizenship component is about being pro-active and we focus on making eco-friendly choices and being eco-efficient. We model and teach strategies to promote cleaner air, water and food; reduce waste and promote sustainability; and encourage the use of environmentally responsible materials. In our program children are guided to be stewards of the earth and its resources.
