CHILD FOCUSED LEARNING

Child focused learning is meaningful and has purpose.

Learning is a developmental process that happens through various stages, at various rates, and it also happens naturally through explorations and discovery. It is unique to each individual. Our Child Focused Learning component exposes children to a wide range of developmentally appropriate activities which integrate Language, Math, Science and the Arts. Each child is provided with opportunities to construct knowledge and understanding from real and meaningful experiences in a variety of settings. Children can explore and make discoveries at their own pace, based on their own individual interests and needs. They are encouraged to explore possibilities, invent solutions, collaborate with others, and try out new ideas. Given these opportunities, children develop confidence and independence.

The structure of activities, resources and interactions within the classroom are age appropriate. They are organized to provide all children with safe, comfortable and familiar routines, while at the same time challenging them to reach their own potential as learners, producers, listeners, creators and problem solvers.
